Use up leftover candy in this Slow Cooker Candy Bar Fondue!! Great with pound cake, strawberries and apples!
What a fun way to end a party with this Candy Bar Fondue! I was asked if I would like to review a copy of Slow Cooker Desserts by Roxanne Wyss and Kathy Moore; of course, I would! I enjoyed this recipe so much and love having this recipe on the blog.
Do I need a fondue pot?
No! You don’t need a fondue pot; if you have any size of slow cooker, you can make fondue! This fondue turns out silky smooth; you won’t be able to stop eating it! Perfect for using up leftover candy bars, I’m sure you can add a few extra ones you have on hand, such as Snickers, Hershey’s, or Mars Bars.
Bring back the vintage parties and use this fondue recipe! Your guests will never expect it. Crockpot Chocolate fondue is great for Halloween, Christmas, or even Valentine’s day!
- milk chocolate chips – Adds more melted chocolate to the fondue. You can use dark chocolate chips if you want a dark chocolate fondue. Other options are white chocolate chips or semi-chocolate chips.
- Marshmallow cream – What a wild card ingredient! The marshmallow creme creates a fluffy chocolate dip.
- Caramels – Find them wrapped on the candy aisle. I used Werther’s soft caramels, but I have used the classic Kraft caramels as well!
- heavy cream – Helps thin out the dip.
- milky way bars (fun-size) – These will melt smoothly into the candy bar dip. You can make snickers bar dip if you want! They melt just as good, and there are bits of peanuts in the dip.
StepOne – Spray a small crockpot (or any size you have!) with nonstick spray. Place all the ingredients in the slow cooker. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 1.5 to 2 hours or until melted and smooth, stirring every 30 minutes. Stir until combined.
StepTwo – Serve warm with your favorite dippers.
What should I serve with chocolate fondue?
- pound cake (find this on the freezer aisle)
- Strawberries, Banana Slices, or Apple Slices
- Biscoff Cookies, Peanut Butter Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies, or Graham Crackers
- Potato Chips – Get chips with “ridges.”
- Pretzel sticks or any other salty snacks
- Rice Krispie treats – Store-bought or homemade rice krispie treats
- Donut Holes
This can be reheated in the microwave and served another day. Or you can reheat it in the crock pot or on the stovetop; it doesn’t take much time at all!
This dip can be served cold the next day! A perfect treat with sliced apples and perfect for work or school lunches.

Caramels and milky way candy bars make this decadent chocolate fondue.
Suggestions for Serving (pick at least 3)
Spray a small slow cooker with nonstick spray. (Though any slow cooker size will work, big or small).
Place all the ingredients in the slow cooker. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until melted and smooth, stirring every 30 minutes. Stir until combined.
Turn the slow cooker to warm for serving. Beware the chocolate may cause burns. Use skewers when possible for dipping items and be sure to help children.
Make 3 cups.
